the gist of the story: The groom, Jhon Maala, ordered a custom-made suit from designer Puey Quiñones for his wedding to Shea Gamboa. charged P30,000. But he discovered it was not what he had ordered. He received a suit carrying two labels: BOBON by Puey Quiñones, and a Dansen care label tucked into the suit jacket's hidden pocket. (Dansen is a brand carried by SM Department Store.) So it's basically just an RTW with a designer tag stitched on it... whew...so guys be careful The following is Puey Quiñones's official statement and public apology: Regarding the recent “fashion scam”, I regret that all this happened. First and foremost, I would like to apologize to the couple for all the trouble that it has caused them. I was simply pressured to create a suit and found a perfect blank canvas to develop. I know the entire situation could have been handled better but now it has just been blown out of proportion and affected so many others. I assure all concerned that I am doing the best that I can to fix this situation. I have been in contact with the party involved and intend to settle this peacefully. To the couple who brought attention to this matter and to everyone else that have raised concerns over the quality of my service as a designer... I am sorry. I am doing all that I can to make sure that this does not happen again. Thank you for your understanding and for your concern. hmmm, what an excuse. I don't think it was a blank canvass, it' is a suit made by Dansen . I'm pretty sure Puey made lots of original stuff too. and satisfied lots of clients, however, speaking from the point of view of an artist like me, we are ALWAYS paid to do original artworks . And it is a deadly sin to get credit out of someone else's work. in all FAIRNESS..BOBON is carrying many great designer brands , I hope people are smart enough not to think that all designer's there does the same... I worked with ULYSSES KING on my last event. BOBON also carries his designer label

and he had me use his beautiful and most importantly, original works. that's what a designer should be.

Japan's representative to the Miss Universe 2009 is Emiri Miyasaka, and she's pretty. Here are her pics sent by her country's pageant director (Ines Ligron) sent to the Miss Universe Organization which caused quite a stir in all kinds of media. According to Ms. Ligron it was intended to look that way to create talks in the media and not stereotype beauty pageants, She thinks that part of the magic of the contests are those who break off the mold and bring new definition of beauty such as what designers Junya Watanabe, Yoji Yamamto, Issey Miyake, John Galliano, Alexander McQueen, Cavalli and Dolce & Gabanna do.I myself think this is cool!!! Something to watch out for...

I've been eyeing these new shoes lately, brand name is Supra, it's not yet that popular in Asia, but in US it's already making waves. I think its gonna be the new footwear for the season, just like Havaianas way way back. Check their site http://www.suprafootwear.com/footwear. It sells for 60 to 100 US dollars....

A lot of people asks me what KOKO Superstar stands for? ..
my model idol Patrick Ribsaetter has "Universal Player"
Great artist/singer Beyonce has "Sasha Fierce"
and other great personalities have their own pseudo names
they give to their alter egos...
I choose KOKO Superstar.
KOKO Superstar is someone who has a big appetite for life. He is strong and determined to achieve his dreams. He Overcomes challenges with finesse and class. He or She doesn’t need to be someone who achieved and possessed so much. He could be a KOKO Superstar just by knowing that he is able to live his life to the fullest -have fun, be happy, loving ,be romantic, laugh and cry with friends, be stylish or maybe be a bit crazy sometimes, to name a few..., but most of all he is someone who is wise and spiritual enough to share the wonderful blessings he has in this short yet meaningful journey called life... Kudos to all of you KOKO Superstars! ... :)

It’s clear to me from the many people I talk to that there is a great misunderstanding about style. Style is not a price. It is not an age. It is not a size. And it can be learned.
Style is one part self-knowledge and one part self-confidence. In other words, it’s an attitude. It is a life-affirming expression of your character and spirit, a conviction that you are worth knowing, worth looking at and can present yourself well. It is knowing your strengths and weaknesses so that you can accentuate your strengths, not hide real or imagined shortcomings. Feeling good about yourself is a sine qua non of looking good.
There is one more element of style, and that is clothes, but style should never be confused with fashion. Fashion is synonymous with clothes, but style is merely expressed through clothes. Fashion is IN the clothes. Style is IN the wearer.
Style is nothing if not a celebration of individuality, of individual variability. It glorifies the fact that we are all different. It exposes as preposterous the notion that there is an ideal body, an ideal woman or man—that there is only one perfect way to look, that any one way is perfect for all men. Style always delights because it is a revelation that the possibilities for originality are limitless.
Style rejects ideals. It goes its own way. In fact, style is nothing if not a triumph of the fresh and unusual.
Style is democratic. It assumes that every woman/man has the potential to create an identity that’s unique, and to express it through how she carries herself, how she grooms herself, what she puts on.
Yet style is aristocratic. It sets apart those who have it from those whose dress is merely functional, utilitarian. It announces to the world that the wearer has a sense of herself and has assumed command of herself.
Style is intelligent, because it requires self-knowledge. Style hugs the self closely, even though it never represents the whole self at one time. The self is too complex to be represented by any one way of dressing.
Style is optimistic. It is optimism made visible. Style presumes that you are a person of interest, that the world is a place of interest, that life is worth making the effort for.
There is no style without taking risk, without exploring new sides of the self, without saving what works and discarding the errors. Style, then, is a springboard for personal growth.
There are those who criticize style for its trendiness and materialistic consumption. But they are confusing style with fashion. Fashion is preoccupied with change merely for change’s sake, to stoke consumer purchases.
Style is in fact a way of avoiding the clutter of stuff. It is a way of sorting through the crowded marketplaces, a way of selecting, making choices influenced not so much by pressures such as advertising but by internal considerations. This kind of style no more requires change from season to season that does your character. But neither is it completely static. Ideally it should evolve over time, as character does.
Style is really self-knowledge applied selectively—selectivity is its essence—to the material world.
